Men and Boys Action Team Meeting

The Men and Boys Action Team of the Marin County Suicide Prevention Collaborative is designed to raise awareness of men and boys mental health and well-being in our community. While everyone can be vulnerable to mental health, substance use, and suicidal risk, we know that men and boys are disproportionately impacted by these health issues across the lifespan in our community—and across the country.

But, it doesn’t have to be that way! We know that suicide and substance use disorders can be prevented and that recovery is possible. There are steps each one of us can take to create a community where help seeking is a sign of strength and direct conversations about our mental health can be normalized. As a member of the Team, you can help spread these life saving messages.

About the Men and Boys Team:

This Team is comprised of a group of men and boys who come together for monthly/bi-monthly meetings to inform mental health campaigns, including Redefining Strength, and events that often take place during May Mental Health Month and September Suicide Prevention and Recovery Month. As we look towards the Spring, we would like to invite you to join our next meeting scheduled for Thursday January 11, 2024 from 4:00-5:00 pm to learn more about the Team and play a part in our next May Mental Health Month event. The meetings, led by two co-leads and staffed by the Senior Program Coordinator for Suicide Prevention, are an awesome way to build connection and awareness—and to make a difference!

The next meeting is: January 11, 2024 from 4-5 pm.

Join us if you are someone who:

  • Is over 13 years of age

  • Self identifies as male

  • Represents diversity in its many forms (racial/ethnic,

  • sexual orientation, education, experience, etc.)

Register now.
