Meet Maureen "Mo" de Nieva-Marsh (she/her), a skilled and passionate professional with over two decades of experience in civic engagement and community development. Her personal goal of diversifying the leadership landscape has earned her awards and recognition, and she continues to work tirelessly in support of underrepresented groups and communities. She currently serves as a Senior Program Coordinator for the County of Marin's Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS). With experience working with nonprofits and government agencies, Mo is a fervent proponent of engagement among underrepresented groups. She is proud to be one of few Asian American women in civic leadership roles in her local community.

Mo is a passionate member of the Executive Committee of YWCA Golden Gate Silicon Valley and Asian American Alliance of Marin, an active community volunteer with Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco, and a past President and Charter Member of the Rotary Club of San Rafael Evening. Mo was initially drawn to participate in Marin 9 to 25's Advisory Team when she was working at Marin HHS - Public Health. She was allowed to help advise and build the Marin 9 to 25 advisory team from the ground up. As an Advisor, Mo builds the capacity of youth in Marin by bringing an investment of her whole person. All her experience, knowledge, emotional intelligence, and authentic passion are focused to help support, uplift, and build the capacity of youth and young adults in Marin, through both formal and informal mentorship.

What Mo loves most about Marin 9 to 25 is that the youth are active participants. Youth drive the work and adult allies provide support. Throughout her career and volunteer experiences, she has collaborated daily with youth and young adults of Marin County, coming from a wide variety of personal backgrounds with results that reflect the quality of engagement she seeks to bring to any program she is a part of - Marin 9 to 25 represents this.

One thing Mo wishes people knew about Marin 9 to 25 is that if you are a young person or young adult trying to find a space of belonging and connection, Marin 9 to 25 is the place for you. You will be able to strengthen your change work alongside other passionate individuals who want to shape Marin into a community where young people thrive.

Mo's work as an Advisor for Marin 9 to 25's Advisory Team is crucial in providing support and guidance to young people and young adults in Marin County. Her dedication to serving her local community and her passion for engaging underrepresented groups make her an invaluable team member. Mo's contribution to the program is a shining example of the impact that community members can make when they are allowed to uplift and support young people.
